*At 5 am, people's TV's suddenly turned on, and changed to the Travel Channel. On the screen is Urd, sitting on a very extravagant chair*

Hello, and welcome to "Mistress Urd", a show where I, Urd, will cover everything from relationships, to potion making. Without further ado, let's start with talking about our first topic: Card games!

*She snaps her finger, and suddenly she is dressed as ishizu ishtar *

Due to the popularity of card games at the moment, I decided I'm going to show off some of the more powerful ones, give out some deck tips, and show you how to cosplay as your favorite card.

[For obvious reasons, Bow had not been asleep. It was so infuriating the way the living needed to waste 8 hours of their lives everyday in a coma. What on earth was she supposed to do? Surprising people in their sleep was only so entertaining the first dozen times, and after that, it was pretty much all the same. At 5 o'clock in the morning, therefore, Bow is practicing her poltergeist imitations when the box in the corner suddenly comes to life.]

What in the name of Jaydes . . . ? A talking box. How droll.

What, never seen a TV before?

Hmm. Lady Shinku, does the box do this often? Shinku? . . .

[As she received no response from her roommate, Bow redirected her attention to the television.]

Well. I suppose a few hints wouldn't hurt, anyway. Get on with it, box.

*Shinku does not get up. She need's her beauty sleep after all*

Great. Well, a typical deck consists for 40 cards, with about half of them being monster cards, the rest magic and trap cards.

From: [identity profile] slapwithpanache.livejournal.com
Yes, yes. That's very nice, but you can skip to the part about the optimal monsters to use for global domination. . . . Ah. Tournament. Tournament domination.

Only 40? I have to remove 210 cards . . . ?

Date: 2009-11-10 06:04 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mistressurd.livejournal.com
It all depends on your deck. Try to find monsters with high attack, or good effects.

210? thats... overkill

((Odd looks like 'small' doesn't work on this layout. =X))

. . . That's like saying, "To win, you need to beat the other person". Any specific advice? Or how about just giving me some good cards?

Well here. take this card.

*Urd Throws a card, which flies through the screen into Bow's... hands*

That card is "HARPIE'S FEATHER DUSTER". It instantly removes all of the foes magic and trap cards. As for specific advise, from what I have seen, as long as you either believe in the heart of the cards, or have some magic item, you will always win.

[Bow catches it with her, er. Stubs.]

Ahahaha! That's more like it. Perhaps you're not so useless after all, box. Now I really can't be bothered with all that internal organ nonsense, but there's no rule saying we have to play fair in duels, hm?

Seems like everyone cheats in this game, from mind reading ot screwing the rules because they have money.

Cheating is simply another element of the game. If everyone would simply cheat equally, then there'd be no cause to complain at all.

From: [identity profile] mistressurd.livejournal.com
I suppose. The rules are very confusing, so it seems impossible NOT to cheat.

From: [identity profile] slapwithpanache.livejournal.com
Precisely.

Now then, box, are you a participant in this whole business?

Date: 2009-11-14 02:58 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mistressurd.livejournal.com
No, I'd rather just watch the games then participate.

Hm. Well, I don't suppose they hand out tokens to talking boxes . . . A pity.

From: [identity profile] mistressurd.livejournal.com
Um, I'm not a talking box...

*And with that, Urd, materializes half of herself out of the TV*

I am a Goddess

[A lady must maintain her composure. Despite her surprise, Bow merely blinks for a few moments.]

Hm. You could have said so in the first place. Not that I'd have treated you any differently, mind you. I subscribe to the revered Star Spirits myself.

From: [identity profile] mistressurd.livejournal.com
That's fine, I like to get into the role sometimes. What are these star spirits.

Date: 2009-11-16 01:13 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] slapwithpanache.livejournal.com
The Star Spirits are, of course, the governing spirits of our Kingdom. They aren't deities, persay, but they are responsible for the fulfillment of all wishes, desires, and dreams. A fairly hefty task.

Sounds like the Goddess Help line, where my sister works.

From: [identity profile] slapwithpanache.livejournal.com
. . . It doesn't quite work that way. Selfish wishes are never granted. Regardless, I have great faith in the powers of the stars. Mario has used them time and time again to save our kingdom.

Well, They only appear to people that truly need a change in their life. People down on their luck, but still do the right thing. Keiichi is a perfect example of this. He had terrible luck his whole life, people treated him poorly, he had no girl friend, but he still helped a little girl find her mothers wallet when he was already late for something else. That is why they choose to let him have 1 wish. His wish was a bit... different then most people. "I wish for a goddess like you to stay by me forever." That's how he meet Belldandy, and life has been exciting ever since then.

So this Mario guy must be a great hero from your world.

That sounds a bit . . . suspicious, actually.

The dear little man really is. Normally, i'm not too fond of the heroic types -- 'oh no Boos they must be working for Bowser exterminate them' -- but he was different. A true hero, you might say. One of the few mortals I'd take commands from.

How so? We are rewarding people who are kind to others.

Sounds like a real charmer.
